What To Expect
I appreciate that deciding to open up and embark on the therapeutic journey can feel daunting and confusing. Therefore, it's helpful to give me a call to have an initial conversation about why you're seeking therapy and how I might be able to support you. If after our initial contact you would like to take it further then I will offer you an initial face to face assessment session, occasionally more than one session will be needed to explore what you are bringing and what support will be most helpful for you.
During the assessment session you will be offered a space to talk about why you are seeking support and what you would like to work through. I will ask some questions about your background so that I can gain a sense of you and what you need. You will also have the opportunity to find out about how I work and what to expect if we decide to work together.
If at the end of the assessment session we decide to work together we will set up a mutually agreed regular time to meet. I will also explain the terms for us working together to ensure it is as effective as possible. These include confidentiality, fees, missed sessions, holidays and ending therapy.
If you want to work on a specific issue then counselling may be more appropriate, this will be discussed during the assessment and we will negotiate a set number of sessions, short term work is usually 6 to 12 sessions.
If you require longer term, open ended psychotherapy I feel it is important that we regularly review our work together.

Fees are £ 60.00 per session. There is no obligation to continue after the initial session.
Reduced rates sessions may be available for psychotherapy/counselling students and people on low incomes. Please contact me to discuss further.
For group facilitation and workshops, fees vary.
