What to Expect
Deciding to open up and embark on the therapeutic journey can feel daunting and confusing so you might want to contact me first for an informal discussion. If after our discussion you are considering working with me I will offer you an initial assessment session, occasionally this can take place over 2 sessions.
During the assessment session you will be offered a space to talk about why you are seeking support and what you would like to work through. I will ask some questions about your background so that I can gain a sense of you and what you need. You will also have the opportunity to find out about how I work and what to expect.
If at the end of the assessment session you feel you would like to work with me we will set up a mutually agreed regular time to meet. Psychotherapy usually takes place weekly, each session lasting 50 minutes. I will explain the therapeutic contract which includes: timings of sessions, fees, cancellations, breaks and confidentiality.
If you want to work on a specific issue then counselling may be more appropriate, this will be discussed during the assessment and we will negotiate a set number of sessions, usually
6 – 12.
If you require longer term, open ended psychotherapy I feel it is important that we regularly review our work together.
Fees
£ 45.00 per psychotherapy / counselling session. The initial session is chargeable if we decide to work together.
There are a limited number of concessionary rates available, please ask.
For group facilitation and workshops, fees are negotiable.
